Simplest way to check internet connection availability in PHP

Internet connection is extremely important for live production of a website. Below is code that you can use to check the availability of internet connection in PHP.
It is recommended to use "www.google.com.my" for determining the connection as it is highly unlikely google website will go down compared to other website.
