Most of us fresh programmers not willing to participate in open source projects as most of us think that we don't have the talents and creativity to do it. Well, contribute in an open source project is not all about coding. There are other things that we as fresh programmers can do it.We don't have to be genius to contribute in open sources or become number one in coding competition.
Below are the 4 things that fresh programmers can help to contribute towards open source without writing code
1. Share the source code
When come to share the source code, it does not mean that you take the code and make it as your own. It means that you share the code to the others with the purpose of letting others know about the code and hopefully someone that interested in contributing will saw it.
2. Donate money to them
Contributing to an open source project is not an easy task, especially if you have another full time job on your side. It requires a lot of passion, concentration and determination to keep on learning and solving problem. A little bit of donation for them and the project will mean a lot to them as they are doing basically all the work for us without getting a single pay from anyone.
3. Support them by showing appreciation
There will be no technology in the world without programmers. Programmer plays an important part of our life by making our job easier, attractive and even fun. They help us program our smartphone, laptop, digital watches, hardware and a lot more. Without them, Flintstone age will still remain today where people still using birds as their messenger. A few thanks and good feedback for them to encourage them to do more wouldn't hurt you.
4. White-list their website
Adblock has been popular now as even google pay money to them just with the purpose of asking them to whitelist their ads. Most of those open source websites that use revenue that they earn from ads to support their project are huge facing financial as most of their ads are being block. I wouldn't recommend you to turn off you adblock, but please do whitelist their website to support them. Doing this not only make you become an adult that knows to appreciate others work, but also helping them to fund their project without you spending any amount of money.
